Thread painting and I had a natural love affair from the first stitch. Being able to capture a favorite photo or familiar scene in thread and fabric has been an amazing adventure for me, one in which I would like to share with you. I invite you to stay a while and explore the world of thread painting.

Getting Started in Thread Painting

Thread painting is easy to learn and adds excitement and pizzazz to many of your quilting and sewing projects. Throughout my website you will find many thread painting examples that hopefully will arouse your creative juices and give you ideas for your own projects. As far as the type of sewing machine you need for thread painting, any machine will do as long as it has a straight stitch and zigzag stitch. You don't need a fancy sewing machine!

For those of you that are new to thread painting we have created a Build Your Own Thread

Painting Start-up Kit that allows you to customize your kit to suit your needs. To help you learn some basic "how-tos" about thread painting we provide three free videos. One shows how easy it is to thread paint, one shows you how to setup your sewing machine for free motion and the other shows you how to execute the two stitches you need for thread painting.

Once you have your Build Your Own Thread Painting Start-up Kit, click on the Thread Painting tab above and try your skill with three free mini workshops. If you want an upfront and personal workshop click on the Teacher's Schedule tab above to find a city near you where Nancy will be teaching.
