Adding Borders After Quilting the Quilt

Workshop Description: Have you ever quilted your quilt top only to have the borders rippled and waving like flags at sea? Well, then this workshop is for you. I will share my secrets on how easy it is to add the borders after the top is quilted. This is a fun and easy class and the border technique can be mastered in no time. You will become addicted to adding borders my way.

  • 12” x 14” squared up quilted sandwich
  • Cut front borders: (2) 2 ½” x 20”, (2) 2 ½” x 22”
  • Cut back borders: (2) 3 ½” x 13” and (2) 3 ½” x 22”
  • Cut fleece batting: (2) 2 ½ “ x 13” and (2) 22”
  • Rotary ruler with 45 degree line, small cutting mat and rotary cutter
  • Seam ripper, scissors, pins, basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine with quarter inch and zigzag foot, zigzag throat plate, bobbins and sewing thread
  • Marking pencil, small flat ruler
NOTE: The workshop will require 2-3 ironing stations for each 10 students. I will provide the painter’s tape.
